Come and follow the Hairy Highland Coo Trail this summer

Some of the Coos at the launch event

The East of Scotland Highland Cattle Club are working together with CHAS, to help raise funds for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland.

From the 28 June to 6 September, a fold of 30 Highland Coo’s will take over Perthshire and Kinross, each individually designed and painted by talented artists. The Coo trail will contribute to the social, cultural and economic growth of Perth and Kinross by attracting visitors to this beautiful area.

The Coos will be placed strategically in streets, parks and public spaces, transforming the community into an open air gallery that sparks joy in all who visit. The sculptures will then be sold at auction on 26 September at Scone Palace to raise much needed funds for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, to help make sure nobody faces the death of their child alone.

Sponsors

The organisers are still looking for sponsors for three of their fold! If you’d be interested in sponsoring one of our sculptures, contact them by emailing cootrail@chas.org.uk. They already have some wonderful sponsors on board such as Stagecoach, Sidey, SSE, Simon Howie and Bidwells … and would love to walk you though the benefits of becoming a sponsor.

Auction

If you’re interested in attending the exclusive Coo auction at Scone Palace on 26 September, you will need to register your interest first. As well as the large sculptures, they will also have a few wee coos up for grabs.

Coos wanted

The trail is launching on 28 June and the organisers are hoping to tour some of their sponsors, artists and CHAS staff around some of our sculptures on the day. The aim is to finish the Coo Safari at Scone Palace, where there will be an official press unveiling of the very special peacock Coo. But they’d absolutely love it if they could have some real Highland Cows at the launch. If this is something you might be able to support them with, then please email Hayley Smith, the project manager, at cootrail@chas.org.uk.

For MOOre information, follow their socials @hairyhighlandcootrail or visit their website. We hope to see you out on the trail!
