Oban Spring Show and Sale 2016
The 125th anniversary show and sale of Highland Cattle attracted a significant audience from both the UK and Europe. The steady trade saw 20% of the animals sold head to Germany and a further four animals went to Denmark, three animals headed to Estonia and two animals made their way to Italy.
This year’s judge was Donald MacNaughton, a well-known and respected stockman who wasted no time in sifting through the show classes and selecting his Champions. Although most section averages were back slightly on the previous year the clearance rate was 80% with 79 animals sold out of a total of 99.
