Make a donation

Any donation you can make, large or small, will make a difference.

Our aim is to secure the future of Highland Cattle and ensure we do not lose the special traits that make these cattle unique, especially their hardiness, their ability to convert rough grazing to protein and their longevity and of course their unique appearance.

Your donation will go towards:

  • Use cutting-edge conservation techniques and technology to safeguard the breed, using semen and embryo extraction and storage

  • Encourage the establishment of new folds in new locations to improve geographical spread

  • Breeding education programmes to ensure breed diversity

  • DNA research into the genetics of Highland Cattle related to specific characteristics

Leave a legacy in your will

Make a gift in your will to the Highland Cattle Society

By leaving a gift in your Will you can help us to ensure that these magnificent cattle can be there for generations in the future.

Any gift in your Will would be greatly appreciated and it doesn't have to be a large amount of money.

If you have already made a Will but feel that you would like to include a gift, you should contact your solicitors and ask them about rewriting your Will. If you are considering making a Will, we strongly advise that you consult a solicitor, who will be able to advise you about any tax implications and ensure that your Will reflects your wishes and is a valid legal document.

If you do decide to leave a legacy to the Highland Cattle Society, the words your solicitor will need are:

‘I give (insert gift here) to the Highland Cattle Society, Stirling Agricultural Centre, Stirling FK9 4RN (OSCR Registered Charity no. SC013974) for its general purposes. The receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the Highland Cattle Society shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.’

Obviously, there is no need to tell us if you have included a donation in your will, but we would appreciate the opportunity to say ‘thank you’.

At the Highland Cattle Society, we’re not qualified to provide financial or legal advice, but if you want to talk to someone about leaving a gift in your Will and find out more about the difference your gift will make, email info@highlandcattlesociety.com today.

Thank you!
