Creag Glas of Ardbhan in the field

Creag Glas, meaning Grey Rock, is the handsome son of our homebred stock bull, Gille Ban Rona of Ardbhan and black dam, Fraochan of Ardbhan; a versatile bloodline with Hebridean origins that is well known for producing excellent male and female stock. Our Fraochs are a line of hardy cows with a plentiful supply of milk, and they often live into their 20s. Despite his white sire, there are some strong black genes present in his lineage as both his paternal and maternal grandsires descend from Rigg, an old fold famous for their hardy black cattle.

Creag Glas boasts an exceptional frame, perhaps the best beef carcass we have bred so far at Ardbhan and adheres to our strict breeding policies concerning sound feet and udders. He has just been away at stud for semen extraction and after producing an exceptional number of straws, plus a couple of hundred sexed straws which is a rare feat in the Highland market. He is now ready for a life out in the field with some girlfriends. Unfortunately, he is too related to most of our current stock so we can’t take him home.

Conventional and sexed semen straws are also available for sale.
