Royal Welsh Show 2024

Well, what a fabulous week was had by the Highlanders at the Royal Welsh Show this year.

Female and overall champion, Lady White 144th of Balmoral

Not only was the champion, a black 3 year-old, Lady White 144th of Balmoral (brought out by Allan MacDiarmid), pulled out in the last four in the Interbreed Championship and in the Group of Three, but also our group of red heifers were in the last three. Then, in the Group of Five, a fantastic group of red Highlanders were reserve champions … and, in the Pairs Young Handlers, the champions were Anna Davies and Millie Bradley, with Guy Mumford’s pair of black heifers.

As Annie Perkins says, “A year not to forget!”

In his speech at the Monday evening supper and prize giving, Dexter Logan, our judge, commented on the excellent quality of cattle and thanked the Welsh Club for warmly welcoming him into their Welsh fold.
